Confusing Your Pilot / Beta Users Before Full Site Migration

Cesar on Facebook writes: "There is another point to consider. What if the user does not want to play the game any more! Let's take a good example of a bad implementation. Yahoo! new home page was piloted and it followed your rules. However, if you did not like the pilot and wanted to go back and use the old home page, Yahoo! did not provide a way to go back to the old page... See More. There was only one way - delete the cookies Yahoo! set for the beta user. So one more consideration should be if one allows users to opt-in the pilot program of a new site or sub-site, one should have the courtesy to allow users to opt-out of the same."

Thanks for the excellent point Cesar. Definitely locking someone into a Beta is not ideal.
